What is Ayurvedic treatment?
Ayurvedic treatment is a holistic healing approach based on the ancient Indian system of Ayurveda.
Rather than just addressing symptoms, Ayurvedic treatment seeks to restore balance in the body, mind, and spirit by identifying and correcting the root causes of imbalance.
Ayurvedic comes from the word Ayurveda, which is an ancient system of natural healing that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. The word itself comes from Sanskrit.
It is based on the idea that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the body, mind, and spirit. It emphasises natural remedies, lifestyle practices, and diet to prevent and treat illness, often using herbs, massage, yoga, meditation, and cleansing techniques.
It also recognises three life energies or doshas — Vata, Pitta, and Kapha — which guide individual constitution and treatment.
